Significant Achievments:

  • In mid 1955, Bill Haley was the first artist to become a star of the recently declared genre of Rock n' Roll. His popularity was fueled when (We're Gonna)Rock Around the Clock was featured in the begining sequence of the controversial 1955 film Blackboard Jungle, the first movie to use Rock and Roll for its soundtrack.
