Fiona was always a natural performer, but got signed almost by accident. Apple happened to be babysitting for a friend of a record company decision maker, and managed to get her short demo tape passed along to the right people. And the timing couldn't have been better: Record companies were scrambling to find the next Alanis Morissette. She has had a couple of albums, and has a pretty large fan base, yet some people have become put out with her whininess and waifish insecurity.
"I have to feel that I am useful, and also I don't like having nothing to do. I'm a 'double Gemini'; I go nuts when I don't have things to do. Then I'm getting myself in trouble!"
