Rik EmmettBorn: July 10, 1953 Toronto, Ontario, Canada | |
Rik Emmett played for Triumph, which was a successful trio throughout the late 70’s, 80’s, and into the 90’s. In 1988, however, Emmett left Triumph to pursue his solo career. Rik was offered the guitarist position in the Damn Yankees as well as Asia, but his mind was made up, and he produced a solo album in 1990 entitled Absolutely. The album showcased Emmett’s high-pitched singing style and intricate guitar work. In 1996, Emmett released Spiral Notebook, and it, too received rave reviews from guitar magazines and fans alike. Emmett is still putting albums out, and is also helping with production of other artists. He tours the United States and Europe, and is featured frequently in Guitar World magazine.
