Kip Winger

Born: June 21, 1961

After touring with Alice Cooper, Kip Winger started the band Winger, originally named Sahara. He and another session musician, Paul Taylor, wanted to put together a group to catch the end of the 80's hair metal wave. This they did, and were marginally successful for two albums. When grunge began to gain popularity in the mainstream, Winger and other late 80's stuffed-crotch hair metal bands faded out. After a club tour, Winger disbanded.
