Max D. Barnes

Born: July 24, 1936

His older brother and sister, Link and Ruthie, taught him to play on a guitar that had only 4 strings. His father played the fiddle and harmonica, his grandmother played the fiddle, and his great grandfather taught music. Max D. Barnes had two well received albums in Europe. He was on the Country Road label. The albums were titled Pieces of My Life, and Rough Around the Edges. These albums produced such hits as "Touching Souls" and "Dear Mr. President." His son, Max Troy, has followed in his footsteps. They have both been nominated for Songwriter of the Year at different times, and have also written songs together.
