Elton John

Born: March 25, 1947
Pinner, Middlesex, England

Elton John was the most popular pop artist to come out of the 70's. With hits in every single year from 1970 to 1996, Elton John has also sold a lot of albums.

Elton began his long music career with piano lessons at the age of four. By eleven years old, he had won a scholarship to a prestigious arts academy, and graduated with honors. After school, he began joining bands, playing solo shows, and running as an errand boy for a publishing house in London. One day after an audition for a vocalist position in a band, John picked up some lyrics written by Bernie Taupin. He took them home and wrote some music to them, and corresponded with him.
