Born into a working class enviroment in the heart of the west midlands,Ian and fellow founding band member's Rob Halford,K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton had their work cut out in proving that their band Judas Priest had what it takes to create a sound and style of heavy metal that could take on the world.In 1977 the band signed with a major record label know at the time as CBS and released their first studio album "Sin after Sin" (previously departing from their original record label "Gull")Judas Priest where on their way to becoming one of the worlds most acclompished and recognised heavy metal bands.The rest as we know is "History".
