Phil Collins

Phil Collins always knew he wanted to be a performer. He started acting as a child, and starred in Oliver! as the Artful Dodger. He had cameo appearances in other films as well. When he was almost twenty years old, he was chosen by Peter Gabriel to replace Genesis' drummer. After some time and success, Gabriel left the band, leaving them without a vocalist. Phil stepped up to the plate, and blew them away. When Collins started singing lead, the whole sound of the band changed to revolve around his raspy singing voice. In the 80's decade, Collins maintained a solo career as well as Genesis and his jazz band Brand X.
