Michael Angelo


Michael Angelo Batio was only five when he first became interested in playing and creating music in Illinois. He began his passion on the piano but became much more interested in the guitar at age ten. He spent his teenage years improving his guitar abilities and learned to play jazz. Afer high school Michael attended Northeastern Illinois University and eventually earned himself a Bachelor's Degree in Music Theory and Composition.

Significant Achievments

  • Invented the first known double-guitar with a twin necks, one played with the right hand and one played with the left hand. Steve Vai also expermented with this type of technique while with David Lee Roth, but Michael Angelo was definetly the first to do it.

  • Michael has the number 1 best-selling music instructional video from Star-Licks, selling more than 100,000 copies worldwide.
