Incubus
Formed: 1991 in Calabasas, CA
Incubus was started by four high school buddies. Brandon Boyd, Mike Einziger, Alex Katunich, and Jose Pasillas started jamming in Boyd's garage, and it wasn't long until they were playing in youth clubs around the Calabasas area. They added DJ Lyfe to the lineup before releasing Fungus Amongus in 1995 under an independent label (later re-released under the Sony umbrella). They signed with Immortal Records, and released S.C.I.E.N.C.E. in 1998. DJ Lyfe left Incubus in 1998 and was replaced by their current DJ, DJ Chris Kilmore. With this album, the band gained exposure and even earned a coveted spot on the Family Values tour. They were signed to Sony in 1999, and released Make Yourself, which eventually would go gold with the help of hit single "Pardon Me." In 2000, Incubus would tour with Ozzfest, and release a couple of singles. | | |
