Keith Richards began to explore what would be Rock and Roll's primary roots at an early age. An avid fan of the American Blues scene, Richards began collecting what were then known as "black" albums. It was his interest in albums that lead him to meet another student in his school named Mick Jagger. Armed with a friend that shared his enthusiasm, Richards started a band that would go through a few members before becoming The Rolling Stones in 1962.
