I played the SEl until mine was stolen. The design by GK was sonically brilliant but the execution fell short. It seemed the components used were more on par with home stereo equiptment rather than pro sound. Output resistors looked like toys when compared to something Crown would use. Hens the "fragile" nature of this amp.
HOW EVER!!!!!! What I loved was ONE, the Great clean sound and of course a powerful overdrive section. With 4 bands EQ on EACH channel, you could tailor the sound for both a and b channels. ON TOP OF THAT!!!!!! There was a BOOST button. This gave something like a 3db boost. Is that too much? I forget the actual boost BUT, you could set you clean sound and level and then hit the boost to "step out" a bit. This function worked in both clean and OD.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO LOW OHM THIS AMP. Drive it into a nice 8 ohm speaker. I miss my 2100............
