Jack Irons

Born: July 18, 1962
cancer

After his stint with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and before he joined Pearl Jam, Jack was in a band called Eleven with Alain Johannes and Natasha Shneider. The trio toured with both Pearl Jam and Soundgarden in the early 90's. Alain and Jack (who have been friends since age 14) were in a band called What Is This? with Flea prior to the Chili's as well. Eleven recorded three albums with Jack. During the third, Jack left to join Pearl Jam (the album was completed with Matt Cameron sitting in on drums). Eleven went on to record a 4th album with drummer Greg Upchurch, now in Puddle of Mudd. With Greg touring in Puddle, Eleven's drum spot has again been filled by Jack. His rejoining of Eleven was announced on January 8, 2002.

Thanks, Lois, for the contribution.
