Steve VaiBorn: June 6, 1960 Long Island, NY, USA | |
A hugely talented guitar player, Steve Vai has had such priveledges as studying at an early age with Joe Satriani, as well as attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music. With his lightning-speed ability and oddball style, he instantly attracted the attention of Frank Zappa. After joining the Zappa band for several years, he also enjoyed short stints in the David Lee Roth band, Whitesnake, and also in Alcatrazz, as replacement for the great and loved Yngwie Malmsteen. Vai is worshipped as a guitar god, and while his style tends to be too ecclectic for some, he continues to come out with good albums and score features in almost every month's guitar magazines.
